MoMoLondon July's meeting saw a record crowd of 200 attend to find out how they can enable location in their applications. A huge thanks must first go out to our hosts for the evening
Skyhook Wireless for both the event and the drinks at Bar 101 afterwards. We had speeches from Ted Morgan from Skyhook Wireless going through how they are combining different positioning methods, Ben Ward explained what Yahoo! were doing on the
Fire Eagle project to share location and Charles Wiles from Google spoke about the mobile location aspects of
Google Gears. Matt Womer from the
W3C announced the new geo-location working group. The demos were from Andrew Scott from
Rummble, Justin Davis from
Buddy Ping and Mark White from
Locatrix who all returned for the Q&A panel.
We also welcomed our friends from around the MoMo globe from countries such as Spain, Germany, Finland, Estonia, USA, Italy and more. It was great to see them all there over a glass of wine (although one person we wont name, pictured, was distracted by our labelling system).
Now rather than write up a huge review of the event, it is better told through our community that attended, so here is a quick list of blogs we have received so far ...
We are taking a month off for August and will be back in September. However if you wish to sponsor a MoMoLondon network party in Central London during August we would like to hear from you. Email us at
info@mobilemonday.org.ukSee you all in September.
